NOVEMBER 3, 2026, GENERAL ELECTION VOTE BY MAIL STATUS

In response to the current Supreme Court decision, please be advised the Morris County Clerk will be processing the Vote by Mail ballots as per New Jersey State law. Ballots are due to begin mailing no later than September 19, 2026.
The State is currently in litigation with the Federal government, and at this time no one knows what the outcome will be.
If you are not comfortable at this time with receiving a Vote by Mail ballot, you may OPT OUT by completing the form on our website https://www.morriscountyclerk.org/files/sharedassets/clerk/v/2/forms/mib-voter-opt-out-form-112624.pdf. Once we receive and process your form you may vote early in person at one of our 8 early voting locations, which can be found on our website, or at your polling location on Election Day November 3, 2026.
Please submit your OPT OUT request NO LATER THAN August 31, 2026.
You may receive Vote by Mail ballots in the future by submitting a new application.
If you choose to continue to receive a Vote by Mail ballot, it is strongly recommended that you place your ballot in the mail a minimum of 7 days prior to November 3rd or place your ballot in a secure Drop Box. Drop Box locations can be found at https://www.morriscountynj.gov/Government/Voting-and-Elections/Ways-to-Vote/How-to-Submit-Your-Mail-In-Ballot/Ballot-Drop-Box-Locations. There is also a memo included in your Vote by Mail envelope that lists the Morris County Drop box locations.
