Payment due upon receipt. Realty transfer tax payment must be in the form of an attorney’s trust/escrow account check or certified check.

You may open an account to charge your recording fees as long as you maintain the proper positive balance.

Payment for Services Policy

This office will accept cash, personal and business checks as well as money orders in payment of services performed, subject to the following restrictions:

  1. Only cash, business checks, certified checks or money orders are acceptable for County ID Cards, Notary Public Oaths or the filing of Trade Name Certificates. We can no longer accept personal checks for these services.
  2. All realty transfer tax checks must be a certified check or an attorney’s trust/escrow account check.
  3. Checks may not be post-dated or have the date altered in any way.
  4. All checks must bear a name, address and bank account number.
  5. All personal checks must have a personal or business phone number on the front of the check.
  6. All business checks must have a business phone number on the front of the check.
  7. No checks will be accepted from a third party, other than a party involved in the transaction (eg. Seller, buyer, their attorneys, licensed title company, or licensed financial institution).
  8. No checks will be accepted after sixty (60) days of the issue date.
  9. Checks returned to this office unpaid by the bank will be subject to a $60.00 service charge.
