Important Updates for All Notaries Public

As of October 22, 2021, the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services has implemented a number of important changes to the notarial process. We encourage all Notaries Public to read through the new Notary Public Manual and become familiar with the new provisions.

In addition, please note that Executive Order #170 signed by Governor Murphy on July 31, 2020, currently extends expiring terms of office for Notaries Public until “90 days” after the last day of the Public Health Emergency. This date will be announced by the Governor at some point in the future.

Notaries who have recently expired commissions but have renewed their commissions should be able to access their information by visiting this website, typing in their last name and clicking on the Start Search button. If your name is on the list, then you are considered to have an "active" commission.

Please note that ALL Notaries Public still need to be sworn in by their 90 day due date, before the Executive Order is rescinded. Failure to do so will result in your commission being voided and you will have to reapply.

Notarial Services

Our office is not able to notarize documents or offer other notarial services for the public. If you need to find a Notary Public, many of Morris County’s public libraries offer the service.
