You May Apply In-person at the Morris County
Clerk's Office or apply by mail if you qualify.
- To renew a passport you will need the previous passport, a
valid driver's license and one color, 2" x 2" passport
sized photos taken within last six months.
- Anyone with a passport issued more than 15 years ago and/or
anyone who was under the age of 16 at the time, must apply in
person for a new passport .
- *A child under 18, without a driver's license, must be accompanied
by a parent with valid id.
- Social security numbers are mandatory for all persons over
the age of two.
- The fee for an adult passport is $135.00. A check for $110.00
made payable to U.S. Department of State
and $25.00 in cash or check payable to Morris County
Clerk.
- The fee for a child's passport is $105.00. A check for $80.00
made payable to U.S. Department of State
and $25.00 in cash or check payable to Morris County
Clerk.
- The U.S. Department of State requires separate checks for
each passport
- The Morris County Clerk Fee may be combined for a family
- It will take approximately six weeks to process a passport
application.
- If your most recent passport was issued less than 15 years
ago and you were over 16 years of age or older at the time of
issuance, you may be eligible to use form DS-82 (see
information on mail-in application).
- Please note a child is considered anyone under the age of
16
* Children 15 years of age and under must appear in person with
both parents, provide a certified copy of their birth certificate
indicating the names of the parents, and provide previously issued
passport . If only one parent can appear, this parent must have
a notarized consent form (DS-3053) and a copy of the front and back
of the driver’s license from the absent parent. Single parent
households must provide primary evidence of sole custody (Court
Order,Divorce Decree,Death Certificate,etc.).
